Kindergarten

Hello! My name is Stacey Hatfield. I’m thrilled to be your child’s kindergarten teacher! I’m extremely passionate about teaching young children. I‘m really looking forward to a year of learning, fun, friendships, and adventures. Together we are going to learn and grow.
Here is a little bit about me. I live in Dexter with my wonderful husband Mike and our three amazing children Hadley (18), Eden (15), Cole (13), and our sweet labrador, Blu. We have a ton of fun together. I love them so much!
Being a teacher has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I feel so fortunate to be living it. I have many years of experience working with children, including over a decade as a guest teacher and time teaching pre-kindergarten. This is my eighth year at Eberwhite. I taught first grade for seven years, and this year I’m excited to begin my first year teaching kindergarten. I graduated from Madonna University in 2003. I received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Elementary Education. In addition, I received an Early Childhood Education endorsement (ZA). In 2009, I received a Master of Arts in Teaching - Literacy Education from Madonna University.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is hatfields@aaps.k12.mi.us

Welcome to Kindergarten at Eberwhite!
My name is Stephanie Burnstein, and I’m really happy to be a part of the wonderful Eberwhite community. We’re going to have a lot of fun making new friends, exploring, growing, and learning this school year. It’s going to be a fantastic time, and I can’t wait to get started! I hope you and your child feel just as excited as I do!
For those whom I haven’t met, this is my ninth year teaching at Eberwhite. I spent the first six years in third grade, a year in second grade, and then joined the amazing Y5/kindergarten team last year.
My family and I moved to Ann Arbor 12 years ago from the Cayman Islands, and I have worked throughout AAPS since our arrival. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. My oldest son, Sam, lives and works in Washington, D.C. My second son, Oliver, lives in town and works across southeastern Michigan. My daughter Zalie is a freshman at UofM and is excited to start this new chapter. I’m a lifelong learner who loves to sing and dance (there IS a song for everything!), enjoy new experiences, and explore the world near and far.
I’m excited to get to know you and look forward to our year together!
